You Don't Have to Know All the Answers to Start
You Don't Have to Know All the Answers to Start
One of the greatest tensions we experience during periods of growth and transformation is the desire to know how everything will unfold before we take action.
We want guarantees…certainty…proof…
That the choice we are considering will lead exactly where we hope it will.
Yet life rarely works that way.
When we look back on the experiences that shaped us most, they often began with a decision made long before we had all the information. A conversation, a leap of faith, a new opportunity, a change in direction, or a quiet inner knowing that asked us to move before the entire path was visible.
This can feel uncomfortable because uncertainty naturally activates our need for control. We begin searching for reassurance in the future rather than grounding ourselves in what we already know to be true in the present (and it is the first step within the Presence » Purpose » Possibilities » Patience process I take my clients through).
But what if trust was never about knowing the outcome?
What if trust is simply the willingness to honor the next step?
Many of us spend years trying to eliminate uncertainty when the deeper invitation is learning how to move with it.
The truth is that clarity often arrives through action, not before it. We discover our strengths by using them. We build confidence by practicing courage. We learn what is aligned by engaging with life rather than observing it from a distance.
This is especially true during moments of becoming.
There are seasons when we outgrow what once fit (our caterpillar journey). We feel the pull toward something new, yet we cannot fully see what awaits us on the other side. It is tempting to interpret this lack of certainty as a sign to stop…
More often, it is an invitation to listen.
To listen to the wisdom beneath the fear.
To the values that continue calling us forward.
To the quiet voice within that already knows more than we give it credit for.
Trust does not require having all the answers.
It asks only that we remain present enough to take the next aligned step.
And sometimes, that single step is all that is needed to reveal the next part of the path.
Reflections from the Catalyst Story Conversation
“You don't have to know all the answers to start.”
“If you feel the pull, trust that guidance.”
Trust the process. Trust yourself. Trust your path.

In this episode of Butterfly Effect Catalyst Stories, I sit down with licensed massage therapist, educator, mentor, and author Lori Kirchheimer to explore trust, transformation, mentorship, and the ripple effects created when we choose to follow what feels aligned before we can fully see where it will lead.

She is looking forward to helping people even more through this gentle and effective approach.
